Artist Biography:

Ferdy Tumakaka, pianist and music director for the New York Theatre Ballet, made his debut at 17 as first prize winner at the Jakarta Piano Competition 2001. He has performed in Paris, Tenerife, Barcelona, Jakarta, and throughout the U.S. Music director for many summer stock musical theater productions, he worked with Broadway dance veteran Gemze de Lappe to revive Agnes de Milleâs choreography for the New York Theatre Ballet, and is currently music director and co-arranger of a new musical, âThereâs Something I Need to Tell You,â in development at the Workshop Theater Company in New York.

Diana Byer is the founder, president, and artistic director of New York Theatre Ballet and of its official training school, Ballet School NY. Ms. Byer received her principal dance training from Margaret Craske and Antony Tudor. She has appeared as a soloist with Les Grandes Ballets Canadiens, Manhattan Festival Ballet, New York City Opera Ballet, and the Juilliard Ensemble. She has taught at the Manhattan School of Dance, Compagnie de Michel Hallet (Lyon, France) and
Cascina Bela (Milan, Italy). She has been a guest instructor of the
Cecchetti Society of America, the Cecchetti Society of Canada, Cornell and
New York Universities, SUNY at Purchase, the Martha Graham School, and Ballet School of Pecs (Hungary). She regularly provides master classes in schools and performance settings across the U.S. Ms. Byer coached the
principals in the Columbia Pictures film, âCenter Stage.â
