About the name "Proverbalist".
One day I was tellin' my wife about an idea I had for a song called Proverbalist and she was like "that's what your name should be." I'm always qouting scriptures from the book of Proverbs and a verbalist is a person who uses words skillfully. So that's where the name Proverbalist came from. I've loved rhyming since I was a kid. Around the age of 23 I was working on a secular album that was almost complete when I came to the realization that most rhymers were just glorifying themselves. I didn't want to rhyme unless it glorified God. So I relinquished that album and started from scratch. This was a stretch for me. Because I had always perceived gospel rap as whack. Maybe God allowed me to see a problem so that I could in turn become apart of the solution. If you are a gospel rhymer that had a Damascus road experience similar to my own holla @ me. We overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony.
