Sandra Crede

If life had lyrics they would be her words. Singer/Songwriter Sandra Crede is a woman of many messages. She is a wordsmith, who breathes life into her written words by giving them her voice. She has a unique ability to take life experiences and translate them into a simple rendering of emotion, passion and wisdom. Her songs are understandable, identifiable with clear intention. Expect to easily relate to her âstoriesâ.

What not to expect is another exposed cleavage, bare midriff, hip gyrating rock starlet. Crede is a real woman with real life experience. And...she has a lot to sing about with a voice thatâs meltingly sensual.

Sandra Crede is an âorganicâ artist, unusual in the sense that she has never studied music. Singing, harmonizing with the songs on the radio, creating melodies, writing poetryâ¦organizing and putting on all kinds of performances (for herself, with her friends and cousins in their back yards) was what she loved best, as far back as she can remember. Unable to adapt to the structure required in acquiring a formal education she opted to drop out of high school at the age of sixteen (much to her fatherâs dismay). She knew exactly what she wanted to do in her life and academia was just another interference, in pursuing her dreams. Having always been an avid reader she considers herself to be âself educatedâ.

Credeâs ability for creating rhyme and rhythm with words is innate. And her voice has a natural quality, carrying with it a sincerity and strength, which overpower her lack of technical vocal skills. She creates and performs instinctively, surrendering to her âsourceâ of inspiration. Her work is un-convoluted. And the result is âHonestyâ.

Sandra Credeâs debut album (fittingly) titled âWomanologyâ is an eclectic mix of Bluesy, Pop-rock with a hint of R&B.

Songs on the 12 track, CD include:
âAll It Takesâ- A sweet melancholic ballad about lost love, in which Crede exposes, her soft, romantic side.
In âNo One to Loveâ she croons over being abandoned, but then turns the tables on an unsuspecting, cheating lover.
Beautifully written and sung, âLife Goes Onâ (originally a three page poem, also by Crede) addresses homelessness with both compassion and realism.
âMy Wishâ is a feel good dance tune, sure to be a club hit.
In âBoys in the Barâ she bitches about how tired she is of the singles scene.
Most personal and touching is the track âDidnât You Knowâ a song, which surrounds the recent loss of her father, to whom the album is dedicated.

But whether it's melancholy, romance, compassion, straight-up bitchiness or sadness sheâs expressingâ¦âallâ of Ms Credeâs messages conveys a truthfulness and vulnerability that engages one to listen. Sheâs charming, simply because sheâs believable.

And when you look a little deeper into this enigma of a woman, it is quite evident that there is much more here than meets the eyes and ears. She is in fact an extremely intelligent artistâ¦and a relentless rebel with many causes.

The book is a compilation of some of Credeâs original, inspirational narrative poetry, prose, art and selected unedited lyrics, which honors life, love, nature, sensuality, spirituality and the sacredness of human existence. She is a prolific writer and plans to someday put more of her work together to form a second volume.

In the meantime sheâs very happily busy, working on her second album and rehearsing for upcoming live performances starting winter 2007-2008. She is hoping to tour next year.
