Details:
THE 7-10 Splits formed in the freezing Great Lakes Rust Belt region of North America sometime in the latter 20th century. In our first incarnation the band was known as "The Axis Power Trio" and featured the members dressing as the Fascist leaders of the Axis Powers. This was to be for only one show, and our drummer, Mr. Pain, was unwilling to dress like Tojo or Hirohito. He did, however, dress like Lincoln, (post assassination) complete with smoking dry-ice stovepipe hat and simulated knife wound.
Quickly realizing that impersonating fascists, although kinda fun in a sort of antisocial way, was not something we wanted to do all the time (we even turned down a record deal with tour support as the "Axis Power Trio" offered by a delusional and sadistic fool who ran a record label that rhymes with MeMu), we fell back on our common love of bowling and punk rock and became the wacky and evil 7-10 Splits you now love so much.
Soon we were impressing a few people, and were releasing the "Tall Corn Country" 45 r.p.m. 7" vinyl record on Big Neck Records, followed by our debut CD album release, "Yard Sale". Everyone who heard it and didn't have something up their ass loved it, including the legendary John Peel over the pond at the BBC. He enthusiastically played "I Love Your Mom" on his BBC radio program for a few weeks, and the lovely, sun-starved and bitters-soaked people of Britain were gripped in a miniature frothy 7-10 Splits frenzy. Big Neck began to ship CDs over to the UK, where we were now bigger than "Pratty Pram & the Articulated Lorries of Doom", a completely unknown English punk band who never went any farther than a poorly attended pub gig in Shropshire.
But we WERE bigger then them, none the less, and UK LP sales soared into the triple digits. Live shows, like the "Rust Belt Revolt" show in Buffalo, N.Y. served to cement our reputation as a somewhat reliable and really loud punk band who wore bowling shirts, cursed alot, and tried to use and break other band's equipment if at all possible. Several years, 12 pairs of bowling shoes and 8 indecent exposure acquittals later, the 7-10 Splits have tirelessly written and recorded a batch of new and unfathomably good songs for our upcoming album release, tentatively entitled "Greatest Splits", or possibly "The Third Streich". This Instant PBA Classic Digital Audio Event (TM) will be available right here very, very soon, so remember to take your meds and enjoy "Yard Sale" until then!
