Rooted in the traditional tapestry that is Americana, Doherty creates something new and original. A little country and rock but not really "Country Rock."
7 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Americana, COUNTRY: Country Rock
Details:
Devin Doherty is a New York based Singer/Songwriter. This self released seven song EP on CD-R offers a cross section of Doherty's music. Recorded with his full band in two days on the Brooklyn waterfront, Doherty creates some plaintive and moving tunes. Check out "Breakdown" and "I don't know what I'm ever gonna' do."
BIO: Devin Doherty is recognised for writing well structured, rolling and honest music.
His songwriting has been compared to Bob Dylan and Neil Young by the Brooklyn Heights Courier as well as Wilco by the Grammy/Award winning producer, Joe Ferry. Doherty's influences are broad: From Townes Van Zandt to Tom Waits, but he points out that these are always changing.
In New York, Doherty's music has found a home in places like The Living Room and Lakeside Lounge and production has begun on his second CD. A full length album scheduled for release 2005.
