Down By Fire was formed in the spring of 2006 in the blistering hot desert of Phoenix AZ. Four ambitious ex-band mates from previous projects came togehter with one common goal: to get serious and leave their mark on the punk rock scene forever.

With a brand new horizon ahead and a more mature outlook, songwriting began in drummer Jake Steven's crowded musty garage. Every day for 2 months ideas were thrown around over and over again untill finally a very unique and diverse collection of 12 songs were finshed and ready to be recorded.

The fact that the band had no money didn't stop them from recording... they did everything necessary to get the job done from getting credit cards to bassist/vocalist Mike Spero eventually selling his car to help fund the record.

Reignition was recorded at Lovejuice Labs in Tempe AZ between June and August 2006. It wasn't till more than halfway through the recording process that the band would eventually decide on a name, which the public would never hear untill their CD release show in October featuring Strung Out.

Once the record was released, Down By Fire focused mainly on touring... In February 2007, they set out on their first independantly booked U.S. tour. Shows ranged from bars in San Diego to Cafe's in Utah to sold out shows in Florida with fellow AZ punk rockers Authority Zero. They would take anything and everything they could get.

Since then, Down By Fire has continued to regionally and nationally tour as much as possible. With album sales ranging worldwide, internet and street promotion is a daily priority. As far as the band has come, they've got even further to go and as far as these guys are concerned the journey has only just begun.
