For quite some time I have had the idea for this CD. I had often thought of the four seasons as a metaphor for the cycle of earthly life. A few years ago, on a peaceful fall day, I sat in a beautifully scenic park in northern WI and put words down onto paper to express these thoughts in song. It would be 3 years before all the music to accompany these four specialsongs would be composed, refined and recorded. Having been a fan of progressive rock for quite some time, a concept album of long songs felt very natural and a bit overdue. This CD may not appeal to everyone, but it was very important for me to create and express these thoughts.

I decided to split up the seasons in the following manner:

1) SPRING: This season covers birth through age 18 and the many issues that come into play during this time period. So much of what forms our life to come takes place in spring. Our family environment, our friends, the many trial and error moments, learning to stand on our own feet, everything we think we need to know.

2) SUMMER: This season covers our first taste of real freedom from age 19 to somewhere around 30 (over or under). We try everything, we think we have the answers, we fall and rise countless times, we live fast, love hard, and stumble into the rest of our lives.

3) AUTUMN: This season is where reality sets in we look a little more seriously at where we have been, what we have done, where it is we want go, where we are headed, and try our best to find the right way to live and get things in order. The start of this season as well as the end of the last will vary from person to person. But I will just list it as 30(ish) to the mid 50s.

4) WINTER: The final season, need I say more? These are the "golden years", right? They will be the time when life reveals many truths as we prepare for the unknown. A time of reflection, mortality, letting go or dreaming forward into the afterlife. Also a hard season to put a start time onto, but we all know how it ends. Or do we?
