Details:
Oheneba Osei Yaw was born into a royal family in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital, in Ghana, some half century and six years ago.Though musically-inclined at an early age,his latent musical abilities did not manifest until his twenties when he joined his first band, the Pelicans of Cape Coast, central region, in 1973 after his scondary school education. He had short stints with The Tops of Abeka and The Drew Chase Delegation of Tesano, both in Accra before returning to Cape Coast. Life was topsy-turvy, but in it all, faith in God kept his vision alive and after arriving in the US, was able to complete his first album,'Sakyer Me', with Brother Abraham. The next album,'Banbo Botan',went nowhere. He still gives praise to the Almighty for it.The latest project, 'Yeboo No Asenduam', promises to be an exciting winner and a never look back to disappointments. A twin album is already in the works and God-willing, will be outdoored by early 2008.'Dua bi kyere ampara ansa waso aba',indeed, but it shall surely bear fruit.God be praised!Amen.
