d o o b (formed in 2003 in Boston)

In the year of 2002, Tak Tanaka (Boston-based guitarist, composer and producer) began looking for candidates to join his new band. After a year of constant search, he realized that the likely members were people he had known for a long time.

Tak met singer Lydia Harrel when he worked with one of the local groups in Boston. Both of them spent hours together doing live shows and studio sessions. After the group broke up, Tak offered Lydia to try working on new material and possibly form a new band. Lydia accepted the offer only in September 2003, when Tak and Daichi Miyata (producer and engineer), who happened to be Tak's new roommate, recorded and mixed one of Tak's instrumental tracks. The track came out so good that Tak decided to call Lydia and ask her to write lyrics and sing over the track. After the song was finished and recorded, for all three of them it went without saying that a new group was born.

Later in 2003 doob finished their 2-song demo. Their first album will be out in summer 2004. The group's direction is Alternative Lounge, a mixture of electoronica, funk, gospel, world, pop, abstract, and jazz.

Stay tuned!
