Adult oriented pop ala James Taylor, Dan Fogelberg, Paul Simon, Kenny Loggins, etc.
14 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Acoustic, EASY LISTENING: Soft Rock
Details:
This is his second CD in a year but this one actually began before last year's. GENERATIONS began many years ago, if you consider that one of the songs on the album was written in 1974 while he was just starting college. The title comes from a line in "My Father and My Son."
But the CD project didn't get started 'til 1999 in a small house studio in suburban Nashville, where there are untold numbers of state-of-the-art digital studios. This one is owned and operated by Sam Weedman. If you look at some old Dr. Hook records you'll find him on there in the songwriter credits. Sam is a musician/writer at heart and so working with him was magic. The album took a few years to complete due to other things that came up like kids' projects, the HALF-PLUGGED CD and several other sometimes wonderful diversions.
So it is finally in and it is quite a catharsis. The songs go from observations for old and young alike ("Time Is Gonna Fly")...dedications to Dad and son, Kyle ("My Father and My Son") soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and Serbia/Kosovo ("Carry My Love Forever"), to plain old romanticism and the woman behind the man "The One You Love,"
"Oh Carolina," and "A Man In Search Of A Dream").
There'll be more information later but suffice to say check it out and let us know what you think. Send in a review. Tell a friend. Buy one for a stocking stuffer.
