I was born in Oregon, but I've lived in the Seattle area for most of my life. Iâve been composing piano music for nearly 20 years (since I was about 10), taking formal lessons for 2 of those years. I also play guitar, trumpet and sing.

For the most part Iâm self-taught. From the beginning, I had a voracious appetite to discover for myself all the feelings, landscapes and stories I could possibly coax out of the piano. Because of this, I think much of my music has a certain innocence and honesty to it. For me, technique comes second to (and often comes out of) exploration of the music itself.

I released my debut CD almost 10 years ago in 1998, and performed live around the Seattle area for several years. Since then Iâve taken some time to focus on acquiring a more reliable source of income: software development. But Iâve never lost my passion for writing music--I'm very excited about much of my new material, and I hope to record it soon.
