Red Rival . It's rock and roll. It's a three-piece from Hobart that combines stomping beats, no-nonsense bass and a mess of guitars and vocals with big, simple rhythms and melodies.

These guys have done a lot since they first reared their heads mid-2006. They've played relentlessly and have been added to some of the biggest gigs in Australia, like the Falls Festival. They were also the only Tasmanian rock band invited to join the line up for the inaugural Southern Roots Festival in April 2007, alongside luminaries like the Pixies, Gomez, the Vines and the Lemonheads.

To boot, they are Triple J Unearthed winners and their demo song (âSabrina'), capturing the band at their rawest, is receiving national and international airplay on a number of stations including Triple J, PBS (Melbourne), Edge (Hobart) and WLUW (Chicago).

Their first official release, the Up All Night EP, which hit the stores in April 2007, was recommended by leading radio station Edge Radio.
