Those of us that have a personal relationship with the Lord understand why it is imperative to give humble praise to the Father that sent His Son, and to The Son that gave His life and to the Holy Ghost; sent to Teach us, comfort us and bring all things back to our rememberance

Through the leadership of God the Father, Jesus Christ our Savior, and the Holy Ghost all songs in this CD are written and performed by Rev. Tina Redden. In this, Rev's 10th CD (7th Solo). Again Rev. Redden is in the form of both Vocalist and Musician also; as she plays 14 various instruments to sound like a "ONE WOMAN GOSPEL BAND OR "ONE WOMAN GOSPEL FRENZY" (AS THE UK CALLS HER) in the absence of The Spirit Of Truth Band, (Spirit Of Truth Band member suffered a stroke, and is recovering wonderfully, Thank the Lord). In this collection we again hear the heartfelt songs and praises to God the Father, Jesus the Son and Savior and the Holy Ghost. These songs walks us through the wonderful word of God, Our Holy Bible. Again the songs says an "I Love You To The Lord". Contralto Lead, made her singing debut at age 10, ordained a Reverend at 15 years old, her voice has been continuously compared to outstanding performers such as Mahalia Jackson and Mavis Staple. At times you can hear a hint of Sam Cookes legendary "La Da Da". Redden who plays a number of instruments (14 at last count)plays all instrumentals heard on the album: Jesus Your My King Of Kings, and His Inspiration has been deemed a prodigy in the music world. Raised in a strict Pentecostal family, the youngest child of nine, born to a Minister father and a Missionary mother. She learned from an early childhood, the importance of singing to the Lord. Redden was ordained a Rev at age 15, worked as a missionary from age 10 and served as Pastor of two Churches. Listen and you'll agree, her powerful voice sends a message of spiritual hope, and a "I love you" to the Lord.

Rev's Youngest Son, works as Mixer, CD/CD Jacket Designer and lighting specialist on all Reddens music. Terry and Tim Redden, Rev's Eldest Son; are also Ministers 2nd Degree Blackbelts in Tae kwon do 13 time Heavyweight, and 12 time Middleweight Regional Champions also.

If you are searching for a way back to God from any part of your day, just lie back, close your eyes and let the Rev Redden preach you into peace. This is music touched by God and truly sent out. There can hardly be a finer female gospel voice currently doing the rounds. Redolent with the rich history of the purest gospel tradition, Tina Redden pours her heart out in every note she sings. The lady yet again plays everything (described as a 14-piece one woman band) - remarkably consistent through every track. It is this uncompromising position which lends itself to the delightfully quirky compositions and arrangements. Hesitant keyboard, tinny horn and wandering bass lines form the backbone but never intrude, supported by beautifully understated male b/v's and constant changes of pace. Yet always, it is those smokey, open vowels which crunch their way through your senses, wrapped around the punchy imperatives of what she wants us to take on board. Undiluted word of God truth. There's no escape and you just don't want to. All I can say is, let the pastor perform! Mesmerising.

I have to confess I'm a sucker for old style gospel and soul from the '50s and '60s. There's something about the primitive recording techniques, the no frills instrumentation and the passionate vocals overriding everything that gets me every time. The work of Rev Tina brings back all of those feelings and her latest release does it again! And in the spirit of a true independent Redden writes all the songs and then plays all the instruments herself before adding that powerful voice over the top. She's a one woman gospel frenzy and as far away from the slick, manicured, watered down, over produced sanitised slosh that passes for a great deal of gospel music these days. Rev Tina Redden comes from the gospel moaning tradition where her soulfulness simply leaks out all over this CD! This is best illustrated on songs like the marvellous "God's Question" and the brilliant "Uh Oh" where she stretches from low moans to moments where she tips her head back and let's loose! Whilst the lo-fi qualities of the album are offset by her superb vocal performances, there are moments when I wonder what she would sound like with a bigger budget and a pile of anointed musicians as the drum machine on a song like "Ooh Wee" tires after a while. But these quibbles don't steal too much away from the overall enjoyment of the album.

Rev Tina is one of the rare Gospel Singers of today with the power of yeasterdays performers like Mavis Staples, Clara Ward, Dorothy Love Coates, and Mahalia Jackson. Her voice is powerful and fully controlled. Redden can hit the hollars, swoop, and curl every riff one can imagine.
Its amazing watching her perform; clearly her Ministers background can be heard in every song. The Rev's music appeals to all ages and Children of God every where. Those that love true Gospel will love any of Rev. Tina's tunes. Her versatility is unmatched in as much as she plays 13 instruments and writes the majority of her songs. Such Blessed talent comes along rarely in a millennium

Anarchic dissonance seeps out of every groove of these seven long songs; in other words, gospel with attitude, delivered so quirkily you just have to stick with it to find out where it's going to take you next. The arrangements are paired down to a dangerous minimum, the production has an almost amateurish innocence and the total effect of the package is absolutely electric. This Rev from Michigan City mesmerises with every breath; such an amazing voice, such sensitivity to her material - and no wonder when we discover her track record as a 12 year old performer, teenage missionary and pastor (ordained at 15) - one who just has to make her presence felt wherever she goes. You see, when a key band member fell ill, Tina Redden went into the studio anyway and played everything (14 different instruments), hardly breaking stride. She wrote the songs, so she knows her stuff. The result is such a wonderful take on how to communicate on a highly individual basis, and it works a treat. The effect is reminiscent of 1930's old time gospel without the crackle and hiss. Tina L Redden (the 'L' stands for Laverne - so you know where she's coming from) has to be the finest gospel vocalist in many a long year. Am I sounding positive enough? One final comment: the last track '"The Day Christ Died", is probably the very best Christian soul track you will ever hear, and I really mean that. For collector, for connoisseur, for goodness sake, search this out.

This has an old fashioned gospel soul feel that never goes out of fashion. Rev Tina Redden's voice that dominates these recordings is reminiscent of the classic gospel sounds of a Clara Ward or a Dorothy Love Coates as she demonstrates she can swoop, holler and testify with the best of them. The group seem satisfied to sit on a groove and let the Rev do her thing. The majority of tracks are either inspirational material like "If I Had A Hammer" and "Down By The Riverside" or gospel remakes of classic soul tracks." I do like this a lot.
