So while youâre laying down watching CSI: Toledo, dreading the routine of the morning alarm, Josh Hall (Philadelphia, PA) is in a basement somewhere in central Indiana writing a handful of songs to a familiar crowd of millipedes and spiders with a stack of Beatles and GBV vinylâs close by. Oh, and heâs also dreading the sound of the morning alarm, but the angst doesnât show in his music like the majority of central Indianaâs other bands. In fact, at least Iâm told, Josh and drummer Doug Market (ON, Canada) sarcastically dubbed themselves Thunderhawk to attract local metal listeners and angst ridden college students while attending Ball State University.

Naturally this naïve marketing stunt never worked. Apparently most angst ridden teens donât feel that orgasmic sense of release while listening to songs that discuss the reality of prescription drugs and depression as well as childish fantasies of robot armies spliced into short and tasty pop songs. Who knew? But I think that was the point all along.

There is nothing trendy here. No fraternal brotherâs high-fiving, no radio friendly rock anthems, in fact itâs just the opposite. Iâm sure if Indianaâs houses were little and pink, Thunderhawk would sing about it, but theyâre not, so they donât.

Today, nearly 10 years into Thunderhawk, 6 albums later,past a one-year separation of the duo, 10 thousand beers later, the post green card era begins with their latest album Thunderhawk V (all songs written and recorded by Josh Hall in basements and apartments and the artwork too!) due out Nov.16 2007.
