From the very beginning of AMP 176 in 1997, there was a buzz. What with Sloan having played with Dillinger Four, Man Afraid, and Bombsite, and Erik having played with Killsadie, people knew that this would be a band to sit up and take notice of. Both Sloan and Erik (also formerly with The Stereo)had seen the rigors of the road on multiple tours but felt the need to do something different to what their former bands were doing. Technically, they wanted to continue with the DIY tradition of their previous bands but musically, they wanted to shift the focus. Along with long time friends Roger, on drums and Dan(#1), on bass, they set out and started playing locally. Currently Scott Cook(#4)(Porcelain Boys, Jettison)can be found on bass.
