Darby Bailey, actress, musician and writer, grew up listening to The Beatles, Barbra, Beethoven and Glen Miller.

Currently sequestered in the studio producing her first solo CD (to be released Summer 2008), Ms. Bailey's first set of songs will combine creamy vocals, addictive guitar hooks, big top orchestral sounds and intimate songwriting.

The Eurydice album is from her foray into live music as co-writer and singer/keyboardist for the rock band Eurydice, which toured the Rocky Mountain region before recording this LP and disbanding.

Darby Bailey's story starts out like many young entertainers. She started playing piano at four; with her childhood friends to create song and dance numbers at seven; in orchestras, bands, and singing groups throughout her teen and college years.

Darby's Mother is a school band teacher and drummer. Darby's father was raised by a traveling movie-salesman from the 1930's. They all knew how to farm and sing at a campfire. Her immediate family consists of nine people, enough for a small circus.

And just like the circus, Darby's music might have an extra crash or a beat here and there. But once you get used to tilting your head to the left three times on the last bar of the verse, you'll be keen on Darby Bailey's fine-grained, exotic pastel rock-pop.

Darby Bailey spent many years in Santa Cruz, CA before relocating to Los Angeles in 2006. Darby's voice is heard by millions of people every day. The Silicon Valley company, Tellme Networks, Inc. modeled Darbot, their speech recognition system, on her voice. She can be heard when calling many Fortune 500 companies, including Live Search, AT&T, American Express, UPS and Verizon. Currently a working actress in the Los Angeles area, she is studying at the low-residency Creative Writing BA program at Antioch University, Los Angeles.
