CD shopping, eh? DoubleLight is a rock band with an intellectual bent. Gilmour-esque guitars, Sting to Paul Simon-esque lyrics, McCartney to Rush-esque melodies. Have a listen...
13 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Progressive Rock, ROCK: Modern Rock
Details:
DoubleLight is a rock band with lyrics that tend toward classic literature and philosophy. Lance Moore describes himself as "a child of Sting, Rush, Zep, Pink Floyd and The Beatles." He wants to explore lyrical themes that are rarely dealt with. Themes for 'Assembly' include the modern woman's battle with self-esteem (The Supermodel); understanding and accepting that bad things happen to good people (DoubleLight for Neil Peart); and the wasted potential of the better part of a species (Myth).
Lance has recently moved to Austin, Texas on a mission to gather world-class musicians together and make DoubleLight a national touring act.
"I've worked very hard at learning this craft. I intend to maintain a fast pace for 10 years or so and hopefully we can touch some people's lives in the process." - Lance
Testimonials...
"Lance Moore is a singer/songwriter of the first degree. His energy and commitment to his art creates a unique reality."
K.S. Brooks (author of Lust for Danger)
"Whether playing cover tunes or original material Lance connects with the audience like nobody else."
Roger Henry (Musician)
"When he goes acoustic he's strong and mellow; when he's backed by his band he rocks! Either way Lance Moore always fills my place."
"Syd" (Owner of Snapper's Café - Cambridge, MD)
"It's difficult to communicate my pleasure in listening to 'Assembly of the Wondrous Head'. From it's gripping and incendiary beginning, to the tongue in cheek look at modern vanity in 'I'm in Love with Myself' to the barren and blasted emotional landscape of 'Nightmare Universe' DoubleLight offers a plethora of musical images to its' listeners, all executed with seeming ease and love."
J.J. Simon (Artist)
