In the year 2000, singer/songwriter J.D. Bauman formed the Old Boot Band in his hometown of Santa Rosa in Northern California. Inspired by the traditional country of Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, and Johnny Paycheck, J.D. began crafting songs which evoke his classic country influences as well as more contemporary artists such as Alan Jackson and George Strait.

From the beginning, the Boot Bandâs high-energy live show has captivated audiences with their trademark brand of â90 Proof Country Musicâ. Each member of the band, Nick Rupiper (drums), Chris Vibberts (guitar, mandolin, lap steel, vocals), and Dan Bauman (guitar, vocals) adds their own unique dimension to the Old Boot Band both on and off the stage.

In 2002 J.D. co-hosted a weekly Friday night radio show on North Bay country station KFGY. On the air, J.D. interviewed country music greats Charlie Daniels, Hank Williams Jr., Sara Evans, and Lila McCann, debuted Old Boot Band songs live, and brought classic country to a new generation of listeners. This exposure quickly expanded the bandâs fan base and were soon performing in premier venues for even larger audiences. In 2003 they won the State Finals of the 22nd Annual Colgate Country Showdown. The Boot Band is featured on radio stations across California including KRKC, KRSH, KFGY, and KRPQ. In recent years the Old Boot Band and its members have shared the stage with Willie Nelson, the Doobie Brothers, Little Feat, Joe Diffie, the Charlie Daniels Band, the Outlaws, and .38 Special. The Old Boot Band is finishing up their lastest release in Nashville on which they collaborated with Chris Leuzinger and Bruce Bouton from Garth Brooks' recording band. Their upcoming CD is being highly anticipated by country lovers everywhere for it's promise to bring traditional country back to the mainstream with a modern twist.
