Many will remember Doug as the guitarist and songwriter for the 90's group Sleeping Giants. The group toured the eastern United States opening for the likes of The Violent Femmes, Cracker, Everything, Hootie and the Blowfish, and Steppenwolf. They reached a more national audience in 1997 when they won the "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" College Band Search.
As a solo artist Doug has enjoyed much success. He was nominated for Best Solo Guitar Album & Best Solo Guitar Song in the 2004 Just Plain Folks Music Awards. (jpfolks.com) He was also the winner of the Rolling Rock Acoustic Challenge. (Pittsburgh PA 2001)
His latest project "For All Days" is an excellent choice for the pop / acoustic rock or singer/songwriter fan. Try the title track "For All Days" or the fan favorite "Juliet & Romeo". There's also a jab at his past with "You Just Don't Get It", an upbeat catchy tune with a chorus that will stay in your head long after the song is through.
