This second independent release by Triangle Exception finds the separated-by-a-time-zone duo with three easy-going pop/rock tunes, a satire in the "nu metal" style, and one ELP-meets-Yes-meets-REM-meets-Powerball-commercial.

On the heels of their debut, Cheesesteak Walleye, TX find themselves taking an inward turn.

Live Aid â85 is an ode to that unique musical event in July of â85. Originally, Doug conceived it in an effort to have something to submit to radio station WXPN as part of their compilation of music commemorating the most memorable musical moments. Composed in ten minutes, and uploaded to the web site right at the midnight deadline, the first draft was indeed rough. So Doug and Steve set about cleaning it up and augmenting it with some of the latterâs recollections of the event. Maybe it will get to WXPN yet!

The Way She Loves You is a straightforward pop tune that chronicles the brief reunion of two old flames. The relationship is 20 years gone, but this one last chaste encounter could resolve whatever lingering emotions exist for one another.

Fetid Felicity was inspired by an 8th grader. He had gotten wind of us, and sent us some notes on our MySpace page. He liked our stuff, but wanted us to try something âheavier, like Linkin Park or Breaking Benjamin.â Try we did, although we did a satirical turn with this one.

Self Parody was written originally by Doug and Joe Trainor, when they were in the band March back in the mid-90âs. Itâs about oneâs feelings at having reached the point when the realization sets in that you are in sole control of your life, and that perhaps itâs time to reflect upon simpler times. Also, one might ask oneâs self if they are whom they want to be, or perhaps they are what they used to make fun of; or a caricature of their old self. We recycled it and put the TX sound to it.

Ball is just a bit of fun we had with a 2-part vocal line Doug laid right after getting up one morning. Steve then took the âballâ and ran with it. Primarily an instrumental, its somewhat non-sensical lyrics just provide a vehicle for the vocals to serve as another instrument. It's a little indulgent in spots, but it has a great ending crescendo that's perfect to close the album with.

All in all, Echo Papa Zero One is a nice compact package of songs on which the band covers a few different genres that expand a little bit on the directions of their debut release (Cheesesteak Walleye) without drifting too far from from their progressive rock roots.
