FETISH UNDERGROUND came about after two of Northern California's premier rock bands, DARA WILD and ALPHA Z, disbanded. Jesse from Dara Wild and The Maker from Alpha Z formed a song writing collaboration. As they began writing together, they felt a strong vibe and recruited former band mates of Jesse's, Christopher on guitar and Danny on drums, to complete the band lineup.

âIts like putting five generations of music into a blenderâ states Jesse when asked to best describe the sound of FU. âWe try to hit hard on what's going on and what we see in the world, and to not limit ourselves to any particular âsoundâ or genre. FU's stage presence and its wide range of musical style explains the band's solid Northern California following.

The Maker, who played rockabilly while living in Amsterdam, describes the songs as powerful and honest. On their debut release, âFETISH UNDERGOUNDâ, âPowerâ and âApathyâ question the political powers that be with a shredding vengeance, and âBack in the Foldâ and âSame Differenceâ use hard-driving riffs to upset the senses. âSelfish Shrineâ and âI Don't Knowâ melodically explode with youthful angst. âSweet Ball and Chainâ sheds a humorous light on relationship breakups, and âUnionâ exemplifies FU's long standing friendships, some of which date back to the 80's when they gigged in their previous bands.
