Ryan and Joe have been creating music together since childhood. By combining Ryan's love for singer-songwriters and Joe's passion for percussion and rhythm, their debut album is rich and inviting, casting Ryanâs vocals front-and-center, atop a deeply orchestrated blend of acoustic instruments, drumbeats and synthesized sound. Ryan and Joe spent months adding subtle nuances and colors to this first batch
of songs, creating a beautiful and lush sonic tapestry.

Prior to The Illness Project, Ryan released a solo album titled "The Pride Before the Fall" in 2004. During the flurry of press following this release, journalists heaped praise upon him, comparing his music to Wilco, Calexico and David Gray. Among the words used to describe his passionate vocal delivery were âwarmâ, âgravellyâ, âexpressiveâ and âearnestâ.

Ryan and Joe love playing live shows. With several months of touring already under their belts, they plan to be on the road A LOT! By choosing to perform live as a duo, Ryan and Joe have the flexibility they need to take The Illness Project to farther distances and break into other markets around the country.
