Details:
John has been in and around the music industry for awhile now spreading his wealth from Northern Ontario to Southern U.S.A. John's writing is from the heart and his new solo effort comes out of Grant Ave. in Hamilton, the past home of famed producer Daniel Lanois.
Produced by friend and musician extraordinaire Bob Doidge, who cut his teeth with the likes of Gordon Lightfoot,Blue rodeo and countless other noteable musicians, "A Good Life" has begun to generate considerable interest.
John's writing embodies the values and ethics he has come to respect through a life dedicated to serving others through the fire service and the title track " A Good Life" is in itself a testament and dedication to the verterans who fought for these lands we now enjoy. His strong emotions to that end are obvious in the song.
The track "Downtown Ladies" won Track of the Day" on Garageband.com back in March. "Golden Days" was selected to be the sole soundtrack clip for the trailer and for the final production DVD of "Stamford - 150 years" produced by Trevor Lackas of Imagination Studios.
Writing in the vein of James Taylor meets the Eagles and more recently as he's been told Blue Rodeo meets the Bare Naked Ladies, John's varied life experiences have lent much food for the fodor of song writing. John's varied musical past is rich and varied. From the age of 7 when his band "The Young Ones" gained provincial interest through a series of featured articles in the then "Toronto Star" newspaper to being the principal bass viol player for the St.Catharines symphony, John has always placed his music in the forfront. He was nominated for solo male artist of the year in the then fledgling Hamilton Music Awards competing for that honour along with people such as Ian Thomas and Long John Baldry.
The release of his CD on April 14th at the Casbah in Hamilton was a total sold out success. The standing room only crowd showed there pleasure in an extremely positive response. The was coupled with a positive review by Ric Taylor in Hamilton's own view magazine. We hope you take the time to check out Please check it out...we know you'll love it.
