Details:
In 1989, Sally wrote her first song, "Take Me To The Mountains," and stuffed it away in a drawer. It was 1991 when we finally convinced her to pull it out as well as other songs to go into the recording studio for the first time to create Listen and then returned in 1994 for Peaceful Waters. In 2007, we thought a worthy project would be to transfer the 14 songs on each tape to one CD and to combine the titles; thus, we came up with Listen To The Peaceful Waters.
As time marches on, favorites among the 28 songs seem to be as follows: Angel Wings, Your Friendship, Piece By Piece, Thank You Mom And Dad, Copperfield, Family Ties, Rana, and Peaceful Waters. Copperfield presents a picture of Sally's roots as well as a place we all long for at some time in our lives. Peaceful Waters fits with Sally's tendency to find a hiking trail and then reflect. Angel Wings was written as a tribute to Ryan White and has been requested for a variety of reasons. A student in a wheelchair was the inspiration for Rana. Piece By Piece was written as Sally was watching the fall of The Berlin Wall on TV, and the line "piece by piece and little by little" applies often to life. Your Friendship reminds us all of the importance of friends in our lives and how they "lift us up." Thank You Mom And Dad is a tribute to Sally's parents; yet, it is a song which fits the profile of many parents. If we were asked to select a signature song, then it would be Family Ties: "Oh the winds may blow, the trees may tumble; the thunder roar and the lightning flashes; the waters rise and the waves come crashing in; but, the Family Ties that bind us keep us strong."
Our journey has been a tremendous one with our most recent project being Angel Wings (also on CD Baby). With each day, there is something good that happens because of support from many people of all ages; and, we are indeed grateful. As we follow our dreams, we wish you the best in following yours. THANKS!
