Grace. When I say that word I feel so unworthy. God's grace was poured out on me March 05'.
I grew up in church all my life but resisted God and rebelled until I was 19 years old. I was saved by Jesus Christ and his Grace. Being a young Christian I thought I could conquer my rebellous nature, but not so. I found myself back in the same places again.
My passion for music has always been there. Almost like breathing. I played every barn house, outhouse and dive around trying to get my big break. After years of dealing with AR Crooks, Attitudes, and Band Mates with addictions, I found myself one night faced with a life and death decision. God's Grace intervined and protected me. I came home to my beautiful wife and 3 children, and I slid my guitar under the bed. After 15 years of trying, the dream was over.
March 2005 we brought my father-in-law home with Liver cancer, he had been given 3 weeks to live. I wasn't sure if this was the right move, but I felt God leading me. This was the most life changing experience! God showed me the true meaning of life through this experience. After being a Christian for 16 years, the Lord put me in a position to witness to my father-in-law. As a tear flowed down his face I finally got it. GRACE. God's Grace is the gift of JESUS CHRIST. The acceptance of eternal salvation. The only thing He asks in return is to tell others about Him and His Grace.
I know that my father-in-law was saved that day. Six hours later he left us and touched the face of God. God brought me closer to him over the next couple of months through devotions and prayer. November of 05' he gave me a song I pulled out my guitar and started singing and writing again. Not for myself, but for the Kingdom. Please keep me in your prayers as me and my family see where God takes us.
