Details:
My name is Rafael Adams A.K.A Boyraw. I was born and raised on the West side of Chicago, Illinois in 1981. At the age of 14, my family and I moved to South Bend, INDIANA. This is when I really became interested in pursuing a career in the entertainment field. Some of my biggest influences then and even still today have been, first with respect to my home-town Chicago, Twista and R-Kelley. Other influences have been 3-6-Mafia, 2Pac, Biggie Smalls, and Ludacris. And then not only due to their huge influences on the Rap Industry but also with their intuitive business sense and multiple streams of entrepreneurships which has allowed them to extend beyond just music and entertainment; P-Diddy, Jay-Z, and Master P.

After graduating from high school, I joined the US Navy for a 4 year enlistment. Being in the navy allowed me to be exposed to different independent artists and their styles from all over the US. The exposure enhanced my own production, recording, and mixing skills to appeal to a larger mass. I continued to rap, produce, and record over those 4 years, dropping three cds; Friend or Foe, Iâm Tryna Tell You, and Hoodlife. I also dropped one compilation cd, Chillin Nâ Willin, with over 10 artists, 19 tracks; all produced, recorded, and mixed by myself. When my 4 years were up and the choice to re-enlist was upon me, after having to go to war and coming out of it with no repercussions, decided it was a good time to retire and to pursue my career as a producer.

In 2003, after having returned to the US, I registered for the Orlando College, Full Sail Real World Education to pursue a degree in Recording Arts. After 12 grueling months of 1:00am classes and on an average of 4 hours of sleep, I graduated with my associates degree. I received full training while I was enrolled on Pro-tools, SSL Mixing Board, Amac Mixing Boards, Sony DMX R-100 Console, Studio Management, Microphones & Micing Techniques, Monitoring & Mastering Techniques, Album Production, Studer a-827 Analog Multitrack, and Entertainment Business.

Since then Iâve dropped 2 cds; Pulp Fiction, and The Supa Album. I also collaborated on a compilation CD, Seize Your Dreams, from Scrap Lab Productions. I contended in two contests. One was an Open Mic contest with rap duels and artist performances. The second contest was sponsored and hosted by WP Records for a chance for full recording. I placed 3rd out of 30 other artists and built connections through networking.

As of now, Iâm continuing to promote, produce, rap, and record, building my clientele. Iâm selling beats to other artists in return for credit of those beats and to expand my reputation as a serious artist. Iâm also looking to promote through other performances or contests; anything to increase my chances as an independent artist to stand above the rest and to be recognized.
