Details:
Anton Ryan was born in Auckland, New Zealand. It wasn't until his senior years in High School whilst learning to play acoustic guitar that he found his own musical expression and started singing and writing songs.
While attending the University of Auckland he performed solo acoustic shows on and off campus developing his songwriting and live perfomance. In 1988 he "penned" his first jingle for a videoclip he wrote and produced for a presentation on the Fire code safety in New Zealand. In 1990 he performed at the "Gluepot" a premier Venue to support peace for 2000.
In 1991 he moved to Sydney, Australia and started played the live music "circuit" both as a solo act and with his band " Anton Ryan & the Fresh" recieving postive reviews.....
Some of the Clubs included the "Sando and Hopetoun" along with "harbourside Brasserie" and Darling Harbor outdoor festivals
During this time Anton attending Sydney's Metro Television for Film Editing. In 1997 he was made a member of the "Australasian Performing rights Association" (APRA) www.apra.com.au and appointed Treasurer of the "Society of Australian Songwriters" (SAS). In addition Anton had his own radio program for local music on Radion Skid Row broadcasting and organising benefits for the station
That year Anton was sponsored recording time at Australia's SBS studio's www.sbs.com.au Musicians Mark Kennedy ( premier session drummer) and bassist Chris Bailey ( The Angels/Gangagang ) accompanied him it. The track "Sing it Out" from the session recordings was selected for the 1998 " Big Backyard" International radio series. It was Broadcasted to 1500 college and commercial radio stations worldwide throughout the year.
In 1998 Anton travelled to the United States to Administer a Rock Music Program for a Performance Art Camp in Pennsylvania. On arriving in Minneapolis after playing various solo shows in towns along the way www.music01.com selected some of Ryan's recordings from Australia making a MP3 compilation " scattered pieces".
While based in Saint Paul, Minnesota Ryan recorded an EP " On the Inside" sampling songs from a large body of new material in 2005. Anton moved to Los Angeles, CA in January 2007
