Michael Burgin (the Icarus Construct) is a singer songwriter like you have never heard. Strong hooks and melody carry a highly politicized message and his bold experimental sound.
Burgin's debut 'the gadfly' is not for the casual rock fan, at times its sound is a tasteful brand of country for the rebellious and disenfranchised, other times it's punk rock for the intellectual and politically motivated, and occasionally it's even nostalgic, introspective and reflective.
Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of Burginâs sound is the undeniable experimental edge he brings to acoustic music. The minimalist production, his country-punk arrangements, and his aggressive vocal style are surprisingly effective and well blended into an effective experimental pop rock format.
