This is the third CD by this Fredericksburg Virginia based Welsh band that appears regularly at the major Celtic festivals and Renaissance Fairs on the east coast. Moch Pryderi (Welsh for âPryderiâs Pigsâ) is a six piece Celtic band firmly rooted in the traditional music of Wales and Brittany, interwoven with traditional music from Turkey, Ireland, and the American-Appalachians. The bands instrumentation, Welsh triple harp, small and great pipes, bombardes, Welsh pibgorn, fiddle, Celtic bouzouki, mandolin, clawhammer banjo, flutes, whistles and percussion, as well as the band's vocal abilities, create a diversified pallet for Mochâs distinctive and haunting sound. "Jig Moch" contains a diversified selection of Welsh and Breton tunes, as well as original numbers.
Moch Pryderi is: Mary Triola,Welsh triple harp, flute, whistles, vocals; Lissa Rich, fiddle; Dave Rich, guitar, vocals; Bill Reese, Welsh pibgorn, Celtic bouzouki, Breton bombardes, vocals; Rik Rice, bodhrán, dumbek, and Bob Roser, smallpipes and highland pipes.
