In 2007, Nhojj's brand of elegant smooth Soul/Funk/Reggae/Jazz mix earned the #1 position on the Myspace Neo-Soul, Fusion, Nu-Jazz, Healing, Gospel and Easy listening Indie Artist NY Charts, where he stayed for a total of 25 weeks. Logo Magazine describes his voice as "Honeyed, Subdued and unadorned combination of Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye," while the Windy City Times says "Acoustic Soul Music with a Message."

Nhojj started singing as a child in Guyana; where he performed in churches, on radio programs and eventually for the president. At 18, he moved to New York City where he, after graduating from NYU with a B.A. in Economics, returned to his true calling - music.

His '01 debut, "I've Been Waiting for You," prompted Chris Van Loan - Music Dish to suggest "Blessed with Musical Genius" and was featured at the 2002 International Fringe Festival in the Award-winning play - "The Making of the Black Man."

His '03 sophomore, "Someday Peace, Love and Freedom" won the Best Male Performance at the Fresh Fruit Festival, and garnered the Best Male Recording Nomination at the '04 Outmusic Awards. That year he also released "An Intimate Evening with Nhojj" DVD filmed by Emmy-nominated Director Bill Cote.

In '05, he returned to his gospel roots recording "John Martinborough Coming Home" which took him to 26 cities around the world for a 5 month tour. That year Nhojj also had the opportunity to perform at the Avery Fischer Hall, Lincoln Center with Altino Concert Choral. The only original composition on the CD "A Song for Mother;" received honorable mention at the 13th Annual Billboard Song Contest.

To date Nhojj has given free concerts to support the causes near to his heart - HIV/AIDS, Drug addiction, Domestic violence, Earth day celebrations, and Peace.
