Steven Lawrence, L.A. bass player and arranger, gathered some extremely gifted friends to participate in recording sessions from May through September of 2007. The musicians include Jimmy Branly, Scott Breadman, Carlos Cuevas, Joe DiBlasi, Pedro Eustache, John Ferraro, Mark Gasbarro, Scheila Gonzalez, James Harrah, Michiko Hill, Mark Le Vang, John Lewis, Greg Mathieson, Bill Maxwell, Mike Miller, Bud Nuanez, Otmaro Ruiz, George Shelby. The charts are Steven's instrumental arrangements of various hymns and songs, originally used as pre-service music at churches he has played at over the years. The resulting CD, "Joy Of My Life - The Prelude Project" is dedicated to his sister Julia Lawrence Silvestri, who died from ovarian cancer in May of 2005. She was a truly amazing person and had gifts that were of a spiritual, musical and artistic nature. Her artwork is seen on the cover of the CD.
