About The Dygmies

Brothers Randy and Marvin Forte have played music together frequently since they were teenagers. Huntsville, Alabama; Atlantic City, New Jersey; Boston, Massachusetts; Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Nashville, Tennessee; San Francisco, California have all been called home at one time or another. They have long admired bands such as XTC, Squeeze, T-Rex, REM, Jellyfish, Pere Ubu, Bowie, They Might Be Giants, Del Amitri, Midnight Oil, Split Endz, and much more. Music that often defies easy categorization, but shares many common attributes such as cleverness & wit, powerful & evocative vocals, a pop sensibility (even if deeply subverted), and a power that conveys the conviction and passion of the artists themselves.

"Chemistry" was recorded at the Dygmies' home studio "Flower Street Scene" in Phoenix, Arizona and mixed by Brad Jones in Nashville, Tennessee. (Brad himself is a solo recording artist and bassist who has toured with the likes of Matthew Sweet. As a producer he has worked with Marshal Crenshaw, Jill Sobule, Cotton Mather, and Imperial Drag just to name a few. Be sure to check out his work!)

Hopefully you will enjoy these songs and come back for more - We're hoping to have new material ready for the semi-masses in 2006.
Peace.
