They played more and more shows every year in the â80âs. In 1985 they joined the Turtles, Gary Lewis, and the Grass Roots for the Happy Together tour that played 180 shows nationwide. They also released one album, but did not get much airplay.

Album: A Matter of Time (1985)

Mandel Machine is:
Harvey Mandel, Guitar
John Cammelot, Keyboards/Vocals
Doug Mazique, Bass/Vocals
Tom âOzzieâ Osfar, Drums

In 1975, Harvey returned to Chicago and formed a new band called Mandel Machine. This was a combination of high intensity hard rock and electronic fusion. They were a popular attraction on the Chicago club scene as well as Taste of Chicago and many college campuses. They were involved in recording projects but never released a complete album of their own songs. And these songs have never been heard until now.

During this time, the band collaborated on one album called
Twist City

Twist City by Harvey Mandel
Personnel: Harvey Mandel (guitars), Mark Skyer (vocals), Criss Johnson (guitar), Mathew Skoller (harmonica), Steve Eisen (tenor saxophone), Brian Ripp (baritone saxophone), Mark Ohlsen (trumpet), Michael Halpin (trombone), Roosevelt Purifoy (piano), John Cammelot (organ), James Kirk (bass, acoustic bass), Brady Williams (drums). Recorded at Dr. Caw, Northbrook, Illinois. Includes liner notes by Dan Forte. All songs written or co-written by Harvey Mandel except "I Had A Dream" (I. Hayes/D. Porter), "Crosscut Saw" (R. G. Ford) and "Never Let You Go" (M. Skyer).

SQUADRON is
Dennis Alexander, guitar and vocals
John Cammelot, keyboards and vocals
Tom âOzzieâ Osfar, drums/percussion
SQUADRON recorded one of the first rock concept videos prior to the entrance of MTV. Their rock video is on file at the ASU Library as the example of the very first music video. The band members are award winning songwriters and hit song performers. The video portion of the soundtrack for this music video got rave reviews âRecord World.â

The guitar entrance in the song â39th Parallel,â written by Dennis Alexander, opened the weekly MTV Program âThis Week in Rockâ heard by millions of fans over the past 20 years.

Band members John Cammelot and Tom âOzzieâ Osfar performed with Chicagoâs own Buckinghams and Mandel Machine. Harvey Mandel was the only US-based guitarist to play with the Rolling Stones.
