Mixing elements of alternative, rock, indie, and downbeat, Cyrus has gained a reputation for their lyrical honesty and passionate sound. Based in Lubbock, Texas, the group began playing in the spring of 2001 and released their self-titled debut LP in November 2003. Their latest album, source, was entirely recorded and painstakingly produced by the band itself and released in December 2007.
source represents an exciting step forward for the band as they explore new instruments and styles, while still maintaining their characteristic electric/acoustic sound and commitment to personal authenticity.
