In the fall of 2001, producer Eddie Schaffer met new talent Ryan Sims - an acoustic guitar player, singer and songwriter. Ryan's writing style was a bit like Dave Matthews meets G Love, or as we say now "acoustic rock with a blend of funk." Eddie and Ryan started working in the studio together and produced several acoustic demo tracks adding more of an "up-beat" feel resulting in "Dance For Me Baby and King Of The Mountain. Having received strong positive feedback Schaffer and Sims created Big Risk Records and it was time to establish a solid act for recording and performing.
Having already scouted compatible musicians Schaffer added drumming phenom Geoff Jouas (Phoenix AZ Native sponsored by Maryland Drums), lead guitarist, singer/songwriter Matt Henderson (Baltimore, Maryland) and Canadian bassist G.K. Mack. With everyone in place, EastonAshe was born in September 2003 and went to work in their Scottsdale AZ studio. By June 2004 EastonAshe was touring the U.S and released their first EP, From The Ashes.
