Born in West Virginia in 1952, David Thornburgh is a prolific songwriter, musician, painter, poet, cartoonist and commentator on our modern world. "I only feel centered when I'm writing, making songs, or painting. I figure it's an active form of very satisfying, fun meditation of some kind."

"My favorite songwriters are Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, Judy Collins and Joni Mitchell. I also look toward avant-garde composers for inspiration. Other influences are American urban-folk/protest movement, folk pop/rock, acid rock/psychedelic, electronic/avant-garde, country, some jazz and a few other styles."

Rewires-God's Coffee Break, was influenced by the election fiasco of 2000. "In January 2001, I was asked by Bob Kunst, (www.hillarynow.com) who was heading a protest callig for the investigation of the 2000 American General Election, to write a song for the documentary "Florida Fights Back." (www.floridafightsback.com). That kind request broke through 5 years of songwriters block, it floored me so much I forgot I had writers block.!!!!"

One song has led to another and the unabashed freedom of his words and music reflects his anger toward the machinations of the Bush/Cheney dictatorship and the state of the world at large.
