With this album, Ask Yourself, Akron-born singer-songwriter Kevin Minster connects his listeners to his sentimental style of writing by compiling a collection of songs which show a range of emotional experiences in his life, as well as his development as an individual and as a songwriter

âMy song âWho Am Iâ is really a good statement of what this album is about,â Kevin notes. âItâs about my growth and my discovery of life and all the crazy things it puts you through; from love to heartbreak, happiness to sadness. Itâs really a look at the emotions Iâve been through in my life and more or less how they made me the person I am.â

The production of Ask Yourself took place in Akron, Ohio, where Kevin was born and raised. With longtime friend and fellow musician Nathan Corsi producing and engineering the album there was a great deal of musical exploration on the album. âHe helped push me to take my sound to a new level,â says Kevin.

The original plan for Ask Yourself was to produce an all acoustic album that would exhibit Kevinâs solo singer-songwriter style. But with the ambitions of producer Corsi and the recent, yet short-lived, experience of the Kevin Minster Trio, the album was expanded to a full band release including several songs still preserving Kevinâs solo acoustic style. In the end this allowed for a great dynamic for the sound of the album as well as gave his listeners the chance to hear his music in a different, and perhaps more exciting, fashion.

Kevinâs debuit album features drummer Eric Kauffman of the Kevin Minster Trio; bassist Andrew Muhlheim; Nathan Corsi playing bass, lead guitar, and harmonica; and, of course, Kevin playing acoustic and electric rhythm guitar and singing lead and backup vocals. The album was realeased in October and will be sold at shows, through Kevinâs website www.kevinminster.com, and though CD Baby Digital Distribution.
