Details:
Our memories start in 1014 with Irish King Brian Boru winning the battle against the Danes, but dying of his wounds.
We continue on to 1225 to the first round written in England with Summer is a Coming In, loudly sing cuckoo.
In the 1500's recorders and the song Greensleeves were both popular.
The 1600's had tunes like Bonnie Christ Church Bells,A Beggin' I Will Go, Banks O'Doon and Barbara Allen.
The late 1600's and early 1700's gave us Turlough O'Carolan, Ireland's traveling blind harper and tunes like
Planxty Margaret Brown, Planxty Hugh O'Donnell, O'Carolan's
Draught, Morgan Megan and O'Carolan's Welcome.
From 1705 we have Nancy Dawson the famous English stage dancer.
In 1798 came the Irish rebellion and tunes like the Minstrel Boy has gone to War.
The 1800's produced toe tappers as Cooley's Reel, the Rights of Man, Whiskey Hornpipe, Roaring Jelly, Britches
Full of Stitches and another battle tune Avenging and Bright.
Lolly Cross plays the Penny Whistle, Irish Flute, Alto Recorder and percussion.
Patricia Crane plays the Violin and Viola.
Kathy Colegrove plays the Accordian.
Ed Chevalley plays the Guitar.
Enjoy our memories.
