This is the debut album from veteran writer/recording artist
Jack Gray and his Eddies of the Wind. Working from a palette of psychedelic, folk, rock and techno, the Eddies have produced a stellar recording, one which promises to be among the year's most innovative and ambitious releases. A must for any record collection, Eddies of the Wind is truly a great accomplishment for a new artist.
Gray and the Eddies are currently working out of Audio Quill's project studio in his hometown of Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he is now recording his followup to Eddies of the Wind.
Eddies of the Wind relies on a variety of influences on this record which stalks the 60's psychedelic movement, led by such greats as the Beatles, Crowded House and Pink Floyd to his hauntingly similar stylings to various folk greats. Lyrically this is a poignant approach to the winds of change which are destined to shape the world in which we live in.
"Union Sign" is a folk/rock anthem sung through the eyes of an 1800's corporate tyrant who laughs at his subject's inability to reconcile their need for survival with a life of indentured servitude during the Industrial Revolution. "Bubblegum Trinkets" also pens a plea to our leadership to stop putting a dollar value on our human existence. This album is packed with eleven quality cuts that not only sound great but also listens to heart of free expression. Another highlight is the psychedelic dream states that "Love Battles L Dopa" and "Eddies of the Wind" aspires to. These cut use 70 plus tracks to bring its melancholy science-fiction storyline to a boil.
Audio Quill is proud to have "Eddies of the Wind" as its first release, and these Eddies are eager to unveil this imaginative recording and whisk you away and off to a place of swirling soundscapes, transporting the listener onward to a journey and finally touching down in a strange place that is clearly not Kansas.
