So You Read Me Sweet-Like is part love story (though definitely not a romance novel), part social commentary, part self-reflection, part philisophical contemplation, and part something else. It's a snapshot of what I've been doing (musically and otherwise) over the last five years.

These songs span from the days when I was a self-conscious, dorky teenager to my first year of college: complete with much more self-knowledge and a handful of unsuccessful relationships. Now, don't think that these are all sappy love songs - sure, a good portion of them are, but there's also a fantasy story about mowing the lawn, a dreary dirge of religious confusion, a commentary about American materialism, among other lovely topics. However, they do seem to all fit together somehow.

I played all of the instruments on the album (accordion, harmonica, trombone, and vocals), wrote all the songs, physically assembled every CD (which included more cutting, folding, and stapling than I have ever done in my life), and hopefully my efforts have been transformed into something enjoyable.

Oh, but do be careful when playing it in car stereos, because the label is actually just a sticker, and a few friends of mine have had issues with that coming off in their car CD players. Other than that, it should be rather user-friendly!
