between the fall of 1999 and spring of 2000, elysian toured across the midwest and west coast states as a 3-piece in support of our cd "2013" (released summer 1999) .. setup consisted of echo guitars, raw bass, and dark voices set to amiga computer beats and audio samples ..
upon finishing the tour, elysian arrived to a new home (seattle washington) .. we began recording a few tracks for songs which we had formulated while on the road, and were in search of other artists to collaborate with .. this led to the addition of our viola player and some live percussion as well .. with some experimenting, we wrote more songs and revamped some old ones as well .. soon we were on the road again for another west coast fall tour .. positive response gave us a new vision for our songs and we were ready to record a new album .. this collaborative effort became "the flamingo yard" ..
this album sounds a little more eerie, but just as playful as our last album, which had a more electronic structure behind the songs .. we hope you enjoy hearing it as much as we did making it ..
