ADVANCED BEGINNER / INTERMEDIATE. A QuickTime video tutorial focused on "Going Back South," a jump-up country blues by Dr. Isaiah Ross. This is deep, soulful, one-chord blues from the river bottom. Adam Gussow of Satan and Adam has transcribed several sections, adapted others, and taken the time to help you put it all together. The challenges here aren't really the bends--unless you count the quarter-tone bend on 5 draw--but the syncopation, plus the creativity required to assemble the pieces of melody into something that feels right.
