Somehow, I associated the sax with something very groovy when I saw drawings of instruments on a flier passed out by my fifth grade teacher. I managed to convince my grandmother I would practice, and the 'lease to buy' option began.

I played alto in school until marching band started interfering with racing motorcycles in tenth grade. I stumbled across that old horn at nineteen, dusted it off and couldn't put it down. I started playing in bands, and then bought a tenor because I thought it made me look cool. I have played mostly tenor sax in bands in Washington State for about twenty years. I have been playing with guitar and piano off and on since I was a wee lad.
