I would like to thank a few people:
Matt Perez plays drums on "Orange Lane" and also on "Melt Away." Sean Hathorn Plays Bass on those two also, and he sings back ups on those two and also on "Spice" and "Last Ones." Thanks for that, and I wish I could have had you play on the whole album.
My son Thelonious did the cover art work, and I love that. My daughter Tani listened and gave advice on about 1000 stages of the project, and I also thank Thelonious and my wife Denise for the many listens and discussions. Denise is also the very inspiration for the love songs, and that's worth it all.
Eric Sherbon from Maximus studios did a great job mastering it.
Thanks, too, for many encouraging friends at a website called VS Planet.
First Contact
You came down from the sky
Said you meant no harm
With your eyes upon my woman
And your feet upon my farm
And you brought the finest gun
That ever was made to kill
So we shot you in the back
And put your bones up in the hills
Seven days and you came again
with a hundred hungry men
said, âletâs try this thing again
did you catch my name yet, friend?â
Yes, I know your name
I know your name is doom
âcause you suck out all the air
when you came into the room
and you wanted golden stones
brought down from the streams
you were laughing about a trade
like I wouldnât know what you mean
âcause you thought I was your fool
and youâre the better man
so I sharpened my stone tools
and I killed you once again
seven days and you came once more
like the time you came before
said, âletâs get down to the core
I think you know what I came here forâ
I know why youâre here
Youâve not come to make a home
Yeah, I know why youâre here
Youâve come to suck blood from the stones
With a bible in your left hand
Your right hand holds the knife
You got me on the run
Iâm hiding in the night
