Da Ritt

Since the first time Da Ritt heard Hip Hop music, heâs been addicted to its profound heartfelt words, its poetic scriptures, and its warm felt feeling; the way the hip- hop culture embraced its differences. Since 1986, this man has been hooked on something stronger than any drug could provide. Itâs called HIP HOP Music. His name is Warren Eugene Ritter Jr. but most know him as⦠Da Ritt.
Ritt was introduced to the rap scene in the fall of 1985 in the lunch room during a middle school rap battle. Amazed at how his peers would form a circle around a couple of individuals. Out of know were one of the kids begins to make music with his mouth while another makes sounds with his hands by knocking on the table. Then, a witty rhyme slayer appears spitting words that rhymed, that combination had the crowd in total belief.
From that point on, Da Ritt decided to get into the music scene with some local fiends; he started as a DJ. Once Ritt (formally know as ICE) realized that the rapper got more of the attention, he decided to try his skills at that.
Fast forward a couple years later to 1994, while appearing on a college Radio Station in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Da Ritt was reborn. He decided to get serious with the music and try to take it to another level.
Warren returns home from college and signs with a local record label called Capricorn Promotions. He released an EP titledââ¦. This Worldâ in1996. While at Capricorn, Ritt had recorded in several famous recording studios such as: Sigma Sound, Sugar Hill Records and many more historical locations. He has performed up and down the east coast, opening up for major and local acts.

After the company folded, Ritt decided to take matters in his own hands and form his own company called M.A.D.D. (My Attitude Deserves Definition) FLAVA. Under that umbrella he released another project called âFrom Da Heartâ in 1997. That album received a lot of positive reviews.â From Da Heartâ received radio air play throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding areas, allowing Da Ritt to perform at different college venues. The lead single was â Ritt Undercoverâ, It was on Phillyâs Power 99 Battles of the Beats on two separate occasions as well as Harrisburgâs Top 40 radio station WINK 104 under Hyde Lynn.
After many shows, freestyle battles, and interviews Da Ritt decided to recreate himself. He released another album in 1999 called âChoosing Decisionâ. This album introduced Mr. Ritter to the TV scene as well as newspaper articles. This labeled Mr. Ritter as a veteran in the Central Pennsylvania music scene.
After the project began to lose its steam, Warren decided to bridge the gap in his city by putting a compilation album together. This album was called â717 Da First Stepâ. After moving nearly 7,500 units Mr. Ritter decided to leave what he loves so much behind.
In 2007 Da Ritt decided to make one last stand with a new album and DVD called âChronicalz Da Untold Storyâ. This will be his best work thus far. With the growth and understanding of life, as well as being a father, provider, loving husband, and a high school football coach, Da Ritt will take another step in the direction of his dream. Look out for Da Ritt to bring music back to its purity.
