Winner of the âBest English Albumâ and nominated for Best Engineered at Malaysian Music Awards, Dave Andrew wrote, arranged and produced what many has considered to be a first for Malaysian music. âUnder the Influencesâ, contains an eclectic mix of eleven tracks, two being covers. There are seven vocal tracks of which two are in Malay, three instrumentals and one remix. He borrows from various genres such as early jazz as in the classic My Funny Valentine which receives a drum&bass / jazz treatment, through to the soul/jazz inspired Keliru and Be-Hop, a successful blend of three genres; be-bop, hip-hop and salsa.
