Cambridge, Ontario, Canada -based musical duo deek are passionate and hardworking musicians determined to share their sound. Deek is ambitious, and confident thereâs a place for them in the realm of Canadaâs emerging talent.

âThe world needs new music and new artists, even if the opportunities are few,â says guitarist Trevor Aitchison. As veteran artists, he and bandmate Sarah Stephenson are well aware of the challenges they face.

Trevor is a versatile performer and guitarist who has 10 years of performing/recording and writing experience.

Sarah is a bold and driven singer/songwriter whoâs been creating her own music and performing it on stage for 10 years. Today, her edgy style and intense sound has been strengthened by years of classical vocal and guitar training. Sheâs also developed a strong personal style that she hopes will launch deekâs mainstream career.

After striking up a strong musical chemistry, Sarah and Trevor have been partnered writers and musicians for the last six years.

Deekâs sound falls squarely in the rock camp, but maintains a strong musicality that makes it popular with a wide range of audiences. On their new self-titled CD, the opening track âOKâ is edgy and full of attitude, while cuts like âDanceâ and âBad Newsâ are more melodic with acoustic guitar and piano -- ripe it would seem, for even a mainstream pop-music audience.

Proof of their appeal is in the impressive roster of big-name talent theyâve been able to attract thus far. Theyâve opened for such well-known Canadian acts as Holly McNarland, Randy Bachman, Blue Rodeo, Sam Roberts and Danny Michel, along with many others, and have performed at venues all over Ontario as an acoustic duo and full band. Theyâve also received nationwide media attention from Good Morning Canada and CTV News.

Deek is currently in rotation on numerous Commercial FM Radio Stations across Canada and the UK. Their singles âOKâ and âDanceâ have caught the attention of radio industry professionals who are promoting these artists with much enthusiasm.

Often, Sarahâs lyrics emerge based on relationships, everyday life, or even current events. âThe Lostâ, featured on deekâs recent self-titled release, explores the plight of war children -- the fear and uncertainty that surrounds their daily lives, and how different their existence is from our own, deek hopes to someday be able to use their work to raise awareness and support for causes that are close to their hearts.

As they have matured in their songwriting, growing ever more comfortable in their musical skin, deek has enjoyed the rare artistic pleasure of being able to spend creative time composing and rehearsing in a recording studio all their own.

Theyâre eager to share their passion and make a career out of their music, and they welcome the opportunity to tour and perform.
