We are a 5 piece jazz group based in Vancouver, Canada who have been together since 1996. The record "Ever Thus" is our fourth independently released CD and arguably our best one to date.
We have performed at various jazz festivals, most notably the TD Canada Trust Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
We also recorded a one hour television special for CBC French T.V.

Biographic information of the individual band members follows:

During that era he played with such luminaries as Rene Thomas, Herbie Spanier, John Orr, Nelson Symonds, Mike Gauthier, Keith and Andre White, Peter Leitch, Willie Gerard, and Joe Sealy. In the United States during the 70's and 80's Henry played with Dizzy Gillespie, Bob Mover, and Peter Einhorn. In Vancouver during the late 80's and 90's he has recorded and performed with Bruno Hubert, Andre Lachance, Miles Black, Dan Faehnle, Ron Samworth, Ross Taggart, and Hugh Fraser. Henry has performed at Vancouver, Victoria and Montreal jazz festivals and for the CBC radio programs Jazzbeat, Hot Air, and Jazz Sur Le Vif.
Alan Penfold - Trumpet
Originally from Montreal, Alan Penfold took his first trumpet lesson at the age of nine. Not long after this he heard Bird and Diz for the first time and discovered an immediate affinity for this music. Subsequently he studied composition and arranging with Frank Mella and trumpet with Carmine Caruso in New York City. He started playing professionally at the age of fifteen and became immersed in the Quebec music milieu, doing recordings, radio and television. His long-term jazz associations have been with the Nick Ayoub Quintet, the Bernard Primeau Jazz Group, the Vic Vogel and Al Baculis big bands. He has done world tours with Les Feux Follets and with his own jazz sextet. In 1995 he became a founding member of Eastwind.
George McFetridge - Piano
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, in 1947, George has been a professional jazz pianist for 30 years. After graduating from Berklee College in Boston, George toured the U.S. with the BUDDY RICH big band. After returning to Canada there were many jazz gigs in Edmonton, Toronto, and Vancouver with such well known artists as FRASER MacPHERSON, WOODY HERMAN, BENNY GOLSON, LEE KONITZ, KENNY WHEELER, WOODY SHAW, and many others. George's highly developed style contains many influences such as McCoy Tyner, Bud Powell, Tommy Flanagan, etc. and his original compositions have been recorded on several discs, most recently his own SOLO PIANO on Unity records. Since moving to Vancouver, B.C., Canada in 1991, George has continued to grow musically leading his Quintet STRANGE WEATHER with tours to Europe most recently with JACEK KOCHON and MARIUSZ KWIATKOWSKI.
Dave Guiney - Acoustic Bass

Back in New England in the mid-80âs Dave played in a house trio accompanying such established jazz stars as Al Cohn, Buddy Tate, Warren Vache, Herb Pomeroy, Al Grey, Maxine Sullivan, Tal Farlow, Ken Peplowski and others.
