Gideon Freudmann is a cello innovator and has created his own style of music called CelloBop - a fusion of blues, jazz, folk and much more. He has performed at The Montreal International Jazz Festival, The Prague Swing Jazz Festival and throughout the US. Gideon's music is also often heard on NPR's All Things Considered and music has been for film, theatre, dance and on the TV show, "Weed".

Gideon has been exploring the tonal and stylistic possibilities of the acoustic and electric cello for a couple of decades. On his newest CD, Sonic Surf, he brings it all together in a wonderful blend of the these two instruments playing a tasty mix of styles and grooves.

After studying classical music, Gideon has distinguished himself as a cross-genre cellists, performing in tremendously varied venues - from house concerts to major festivals, including the New Directions Cello Festival. In his new hometown of Portland Oregon, he also performs with Caravan Gogh and The Portland Cello Project.
