Fresh from her stunning Carnegie Hall Debut of âThe Age of Romance," actress/singer Karyn Levitt brings us this CD of highlights from her show. Ms Levitt designed the show as a joyful tribute to the music of Ms. Levittâs fourth cousin, Sigmund Romberg, as well as other masters of operetta and Broadway, including Strauss, Lehar, Herbert, Kern, and Forrest and Wright. Hailed as âa unique interpreter of musical theatre repertoireâ (Boston Singers Resource) and "the best singer of Shakespeare since Cleo Lane," (Emeritus Professor David Young, Oberlin College), Ms. Levitt is accompanied on this CD by classical pianist and big band leader Tom LaMark. Ms Levitt and LaMark, along with dancer/actor Jimmy Moon, are now touring with âThe Age of Romanceâ -- a ninety-minute antidote to cynicism built around laughter, passion, and dance, as it explores the romantic sensibilities of true love, honor, commitment, and following oneâs dream.
